The Exodus Advocacy Network (EAN) seeks to mobilize and train Christian volunteers to use their position as established members of society to speak up on behalf of refugees. As Christians, we are to "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute." (Prov. 31:8). Locally, nationally and internationally, your voice can make a difference. You can "defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed." (Psalm 82:3).
Exodus shows you how to give a voice to the stranger among us.
The lives of refugees are dramatically affected by decisions others make. They have no control over which countries will open their doors to them, how many refugees the United States will welcome, or what help the government will provide after they arrive. This is where Christian volunteers can make an important difference. As United States citizens and established residents in their communities, volunteers have the credentials needed to speak-up on behalf of refugee families. Volunteers can write letters to members of congress, make phone calls to representatives, or visit elected officials who, by the stroke of a pen, can initiate actions that impact and aid thousands of refugees. Therefore, your voice combined with the voices of all those with a heart for refugees, can make a powerful difference.
